The best Post front pages of the decade

You have spoken. We asked you, The Post’s readers, to select the 10 best front pages we published this decade.

We made a very tough job easier by giving you 50 to pick from, and you responded enthusiastically, by casting your votes on our Web site, nypost.com.

Nearly 100,000 votes were cast in balloting that ended yesterday at noon.

The clear winner, which grabbed 10.79 percent of the vote, is a Page 1 that featured the iconic photograph of three firefighters raising the US flag at Ground Zero above the lyrics: “. . . gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.” The issue came out on Sept. 13, 2001 — two days after al Qaeda terrorists destroyed the Twin Towers.

The famous photo featured on the page was later depicted on a US stamp unveiled in March 2002.
