Quack — a duck’s breaking in!
A Massachusetts woman called the police on Saturday, fearing there was an intruder in her home — only to find out the burglar was a duck.
The spooked woman was in her bedroom when she heard a loud banging coming from downstairs.
When the police arrived at the North Reading home, they found only a soot-covered female Wood Duck.
Local police said it appears that the little critter got in through the chimney, according to North Reading Patch.
“The duck, covered in chimney soot, flew directly into a vaulted ceiling, leaving the perfect soot silhouette of the flying duck on white ceiling,” police said.
The duck was caught and briefly detained by an officer before it was safely released in a nearby pond.
