‘Crook’ gets pedi-nabbed

They’re not all a bunch of lawless renegades.

Three pedicab drivers foiled a robbery at a swanky West Side restaurant and had a career criminal begging for mercy after he cleaned out a manager’s desk and assaulted two workers, authorities said.

Neil Reed, 45, of The Bronx, walked into Petrossian on West 58th Street at 3 p.m. Friday, asking to use the restroom.

A minute later, an assistant manager found him allegedly rooting around in her office.

“My desk drawers were all open, and my wallet and cellphone were missing,” said the manager, who asked that her name not be used.

She and co-worker Rene Scarzella tried to block his way, but Reed allegedly shoved the manager back. Scarzella broke his hand in three places trying to punch Reed, who had socked him twice in the face, the manager said.

Three pedicabbies were standing outside when the sobbing manager ran out and asked for help. Within seconds, pedal-pushers Shariff Zeid and Bouchaib El Hassani and Nicholas Iacovino — who solicits customers for the pair — had Reed on the floor, begging for mercy.

“My buddy pinned his hand down, and I held him down like a hog and twisted his legs up,” said Iacovino, 27, of Hell’s Kitchen. “He said, ‘What are you guys doing to me? Let me go.’ ”

El Hassani, 27, added, “There were dozens of sets of keys and a stack of wallets pressing [into] his stomach.”

The three restrained Reed until cops arrived.

Reed was arrested and charged with robbery, burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
