Joan Rivers offers olive branch to Lindsay Lohan after Twitter battle

American comedienne Joan Rivers voiced concern for Lindsay Lohan Wednesday after she and the troubled actress exchanged heated words on Twitter, OK! Magazine reported.

Rivers, known as the “Queen of the Barbed One Liners,” discussed her concerns for Lohan in an interview on “The Insider” Wednesday saying she felt “so sorry for Lindsay” and offered to help the starlet pay for rehab.

“That girl is going to be dead in 10 years if somebody doesn’t take care of her,” Rivers added.

Rivers then addressed Lohan directly, “Lindsay, I am pleading with you. You’re beautiful, you’re smart, you’re talented. Go to rehab, you’re young…I will pay for your rehab!”

Rivers’ noticeably softer side came through after she poked fun of Lohan last week after the “Mean Girls” actress was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating the probation terms of her 2007 drug and alcohol case by not attending enough alcohol education classes.

“Lindsay Lohan is so dumb. Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge,” Rivers tweeted after Lohan’s impending jail stint was revealed.

Rivers continued, “Lindsay Lohan said she wouldn’t mind being under oath because she thought Oath was a Norwegian ski instructor.”

On Tuesday, Lohan tweeted back, “Joan Rivers and her ‘stargument’ make me believe that she and Michael Lohan are a match made in heaven.”

Michael Lohan is the actress’ estranged father.

Lohan’s ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, who was spotted Sunday with Lohan for the first time in months, also took to Twitter to defend her ex-gal pal.

Even though Ronson told a magazine recently that dating Lohan “was more of a headache than anything else,” Ronson gave Rivers a bashing.

“Hey Joan Rivers — you have collagen older than Lindsay,” Ronson tweeted in response to Rivers’ rant. “Pick on someone your own age, oh wait, I guess people that old can’t hear.”

Ronson and Lohan called it quits in April 2009 after two years of a high-profile on-again, off-again relationship.
