4 age-old habits sure to kill you

CHICAGO — Smoking, overdrinking, inactivity and a poor diet can combine to age you by 12 years, a study suggests.

British researchers tracked for 20 years nearly 5,000 adults, 314 of whom practiced all four bad habits. Of those 314, 91 — or 29 percent — died. Among the 387 who had none of the habits, only 32 — or 8 percent — died.
