Woman in serious condition after Central Park tree branch falls on her head

A woman was hit by a tree branch in Central Park and rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in serious condition, authorities said.

The victim was walking with her husband near West 86th Street and Central Park West when the branch fell on her head, causing a bloody gash on her left temple, witnesses told the post.

“I saw the tree hit her,” said Joyce Roberts, 63, a nanny walking with a 7 month old baby. “She was bleeding on the left side, close to her. I was in shock. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I heard a big noise, a big crack and saw a woman on the floor.”

The victim is believed to be in her 50s and was conscious after the accident.

“Now I’m very scared to go with the baby around these trees,” said one witness.
