Roger Waters to play benefit at MSG

Rockers Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters will join funny men Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Stewart for a star-studded performance this November to benefit Americans who have put it all on the line.

Proceeds of the annual “Stand Up for Heroes” event benefit injured military service members, veterans and their families.

“I’m really excited about having been asked to do Stand Up For Heroes again this year and can’t wait to see all my friends from Walter Reed and Music Hall,” says Waters, who performed alongside a band of 14 musicians from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center’s MusiCorps last year.

The prog rock star adds, “In anticipation, I’ve been contacting Veterans in the NY area with the hope of broadening the scope of the choral input.”

Presented by the New York Comedy Festival and the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Stand Up for Heroes kicks things off Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden,. Now in its seventh year, the night of laughs and tunes has raised more than $16 million for the cause to support America’s good guys.

“This is one of the most moving days of the year for me and it’s a great honor to be able to help in this small way,” says Waters.

Tickets start at $250 and are available today at bobwoodrufffoundation.org or www.nycomedyfestival.com.
