The who:
Cory Kennedy and Suzie Bubble sat front row alongside other downtown girls in art project outfits.
The what:
90s nostalgia struck hard again, but luckily abided a less obvious, more nuanced Jeremy Laing rubric: tech fabrics, transparency and complex geometry. The clothing, which included the first of Laing’s menswear, seemed generally unisex in the way of billowing oversized shapes in contemporary cuts.
The highlight:
The delicious sorbet options and prints created in collaboration with fine artist Julia Dault looked as if they were ripped from the circa ’92 R&B album cover of the show’s smooth soundtrack.
The takeaway:
The women’s beat out the men’s this time, but it will be nice to see where the Canadian-born designer takes his New York boy next.
