Exits at Atlantic Media

For Atlantic Media, which posted its best year in 2013 since David Bradley bought it in 1999, there is something of a brain drain underway.

Havens joined in 2009 — the year before the 147-year-old magazine finally became profitable — and was promoted to president of the magazine and its related websites when Justin Smith was named president of the parent Atlantic Media in 2012.

Smith left last September to become president of Bloomberg Media.

And Elizabeth Baker Keffer, a longtime business ally of Bradley since long before his media investments began in 1997, is also leaving — ending a 30-year run with Bradley-owned businesses.

Keffer’s joining Byron Trott and his secretive Chicago-based investment firm, BDT Capital Partners, which has over $4 billion under management for just two dozen extremely wealthy families.
