Manhunt after brazen $300K truck heist

Three violent robbers dressed in heavy winter coats knocked over an armored truck guard in Queens on Friday and made off with $300,000 in cash, the FBI and police sources said.

One of the crooks shoved a handgun in the frightened guard’s face as he left the HSBC Bank with the bank’s deposits on Broadway near Woodside Avenue in Elmhurst at about noon, the FBI said.

Dramatic surveillance photos released by the FBI show one of the robbers, dressed all in black holding the gun just inches from the terrified guard’s face as another of the hooded robbers stands at the cowering guard’s side.

Another photo shows the guard holding up his hands in terror as the robber bursts through the bank’s glass door with the gun held high in his left hand.

The robbers sprayed the guard with mace as they fled on foot with the money, the FBI said.

Police sources confirmed the robbers got away with about $300,000.

The men, who were either Asian or Hispanic, may have made their escape in a navy or black Ford Explorer that was dirty and missing a front license plate, the FBI said.

GardaWorld is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
