Laid-off Newsweek employees bid farewell in cheeky e-mails

On the same day that the first digital edition of Newsweek under new owner IBT Media appeared, some of the 20 laid-off workers from the old shop at IAC/Interctive Corp. said ciao.

Winston Ross, a 36-year-old national correspondent who worked out of the Pacific Northwest, had one of the more colorful farewell emails.

“Even though I only knew some of your bylines and your avatars and we have not stumbled out into the street drinking whiskey and yelling at strangers together, I had a fantastic time working with you and I hope you will look me up when you’re in Oregon and dump some spare change into my cup.”
