Guest stars abound on returning series

The guest stars are already out in force as returning series fight for your attention:

“Hawaii Five-0” (Friday, 9 p.m., CBS)
Jorge Garcia is the latest “Lost” alum to make a return trip to the islands (where the ABC series was filmed) to reunite with Daniel Dae Kim. He plays a conspiracy theorist who helps the Five-0 team solve a double murder.

“CSI” (Wednesday, 10 p.m., CBS)
It’s a “Cheers” reunion as John “Cliff Clavin” Ratzenberger reunites with his bartender, Ted “Mayday Malone” Danson, when our favorite former mailman guest stars as a — you guessed it — bar owner. The team descends upon his club after a fire leaves four people dead.

Jeffrey TamborCBS

“The Good Wife” (Sunday, 9 p.m., CBS)
No list of serial guest stars would be complete without this courtroom drama, which has a deep bench of visitors. This week’s celebrity judge is “Arrested Development” patriarch Jeffrey Tambor, who returns as Judge Kluger. And Stockard Channing is back as Veronica, Alicia’s (Julianna Margulies) manipulative mom.

“Castle” (Monday, 10 p.m., ABC)
The cop show that’s never shied away from poking fun at itself investigates the murder of an actor who rose to fame playing a nerd on an early ’90s high school sitcom. Playing the obvious A.C. Slater role in this “Saved by the Bell” spoof is guest star Antonio Sabato Jr., who experienced his own fame in the ’90s playing bad boy Jagger on “General Hospital” and even badder ex-husband Jack on “Melrose Place.”

“Chicago Fire” (Tuesday, 10 p.m., NBC)
Mena Suvari shows up as an old friend of Dawson’s (Monica Raymund) on the fire-and-rescue drama. The “American Beauty” starlet is helping Mouch (Christian Stolte) get his campaign on track, but someone this pretty must be introduced to Severide (Taylor Kinney), who’s busy investigating a serial arsonist.

Reed Diamond Double Take: If you can’t get enough of the former “Homicide” detective, you’ll get two chances to catch him as a lawman. First, he reprises his role as former CBI agent/current Red John suspect Ray Haffner on “The Mentalist” (Sunday, 10 p.m., CBS), and then helps the Jeffersonian team flush out the evil Pelant (guest star Andrew Leeds) on an episode of “Bones” (Monday, 8 p.m., Fox).
