Three arrested in Bronx double murder

Three people were arrested in connection to Thursday’s double murder of a Bronx woman and her mother, including the young woman’s ex-boyfriend, police say.

According to authorities, Andrew Scott, 23, murdered his ex-girlfriend Jena Randolph, 21, and her mother, Ida Randolph, 65, in their Valentine Avenue apartment in Bedford Park.

Police discovered their bodies in separate bedrooms on Thursday evening after cops were called for a wellness check, where they found both Jena and Ida beaten and stabbed to death.

Scott was charged with two counts of murder on Friday, police say. Joshua Lopez, 26, and Brittney Austin, 23, were also charged in connection to the double homicide, both being charged with two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities believe Scott committed the grisly murders after Jena Randolph had tried to break up with him and kick him out of her apartment, which she shared with her mother.

The relationship between Andrew Scott and his alleged co-conspirators is unknown, according to a law enforcement official.
