De Blasio basks in victory and the sun

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Now that’s a sunny disposition.

A jovial Bill de Blasio touted the wonders of sunshine and fresh air on Friday halfway through a mixed work and pleasure trip to Puerto Rico.

Fresh off his landslide election win, the mayor-elect jokingly advocated “the notion of spending time outside to all New Yorkers—especially if you happen to be lucky enough to get to Puerto Rico.”

After dining with his wife, de Blasio said he’d get to work on forming his new administration on Tuesday.

He noted he hasn’t interviewed anyone formally for police chief and that the competition for schools chancellor was wide open. He also said the process for picking deputy mayors was just beginning.
