Titans the perfect choice on road

SATURDAY

Texas A&M (+4 ½) over LSU: This is not your father’s Tiger defense — or even last year’s A&M hasn’t lost a road game yet under HC Kevin Sumlin, and you get Johnny Manziel, gunning for another Heisman and one of the most riveting quarterbackin’ personalities in the sport since … ummmm, George Gipp? Yeah, he’ll do. Off a bye? Nice! In home-loss revenge role, A&M (+4 ½) in a screamer, for one unit.

SUNDAY

Titans (-1) over RAIDERS: Ex-Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin took full advantage of latest rash of Texans’ gift-giving last week, and won league debut comfortably. Given Terrelle Pryor’s likely absence with MCL issues, Curb your enthusiasm. Spot seems made to order for Ryan Fitzpatrick to take advantage — and have you noted Titans’ sparkling 4-0 against the spread road record this season? Raiders revert to norm, so Titans (+1) the way to go, for one unit.

LAST WEEK: 1-1. Tar Heels sustaining late-season surge (UNC, plus one unit). Washington just missed inducing another fourth-quarter Eagle disaster at the Linc (Redskins, minus one unit).

SEASON: 13-9-2.
