On the day Robinson Cano was set to be introduced in Seattle, details emerged about the sprawling 10-year, $240 million contract the former Yankees second baseman received from the Mariners.
Cano will get an even $24 million each season, and received a full no-trade clause.
He joins Reds first baseman Joey Votto as the players signed longest  — through 2023. Cano has the most money owed to him of anyone in game at $240 million.
The dollar figures shatter the previous record guarantee for a second baseman ($110 million for Dustin Pedroia’s 2014-21 seasons) and the highest annual average value for a second baseman ($15 million for Ian Kinsler).
