Yes, America. It’s happening.
Designer Jeremy Scott’s second collection for Italian label Moschino showed yesterday in Milan, and it was an over-the-top Americana kitsch-fest. There were sweaters with McDonald’s golden arches splashed across them, and models carried purses shaped like the iconic Happy Meal on serving trays. Some even wore visors.
Supersize ball gowns bore the Budweiser and Hershey’s logos, while SpongeBob’s famous visage appeared on tote bags, cropped tops and a fur coat. The show was, quite literally, a feast for the eyes. Staying true to the fast- food theme, key pieces from the collection are already available for purchase. Talk about service! Have a look . . . and excuse us while we run to the nearest Mickey D’s for some of those famous fries.
