My diet pills landed me in a psych ward, woman claims

A Queens woman is suing over diet pills that she claims landed her in a psych ward for five days.

Army Reservist Sainah Theodore, 26, began hearing voices and acting violently after she started taking Natural Lipo X in December 2012, her Brooklyn Supreme Court suit claims.

“It was an embarrassing situation,” said Theodore.

The suit says she bought a 30-day supply of the pills for $55 from Natural Health Food Center in Brooklyn in order to shed weight before deploying to Afghanistan. She says that because of her hospitalization, she was unable to complete her mission.

Theodore is suing the health store and its owner, Adalgisa Garcia, who allegedly said the pills had “absolutely no side effects,” for an unspecified amount.

Garcia declined to comment.
