Two teens were gunned down, one fatally, in broad daylight Sunday afternoon as they stood outside a Jamaica apartment building, authorities said.
The young men were outside 143-7 Lakewood Ave. in Queens about 3:20 p.m. when at least one gunman opened fire and struck one of the pair, an unidentified 18-year-old, in the torso while also hitting the other 18-year-old in the leg, cops and witnesses said.
“They just started shooting the place up,” said one witness who didn’t want to be unidentified. “There were five or six shots, real quick — pop, pop, pop.”
The victim who was shot in the torso was rushed in traumatic arrest to Jamaica Hospital, where he was declared dead. The other victim is in stable condition, also at Jamaica Hospital, authorities said.
There have been no arrests, and the incident is currently under investigation, cops said.
