Baby survives trash drop

A newborn boy miraculously survived an eight-floor drop down a trash chute in Brooklyn yesterday after his teen mom tossed him out, police said.

There was apparently enough trash to cushion his fall but not enough to trigger the compactor to crush, sources said.

The baby was rescued after his cries were heard by a maintenance supervisor in the Fort Greene housing complex at about 9:30 a.m. cops said. The boy, who was born at 8 p.m. Saturday, was listed in stable condition at Brooklyn Hospital.

Laquasia Wright, 18, was charged with attempted murder and acting in a manner to injure a child under 17. Wright lives with her mom, who didn’t know her daughter was pregnant, cops said.
