An accident left a woman clinging to life after her car careened into the Bronx River in Wakefield yesterday morning, authorities said.

The unidentified victim went off the Bronx River Parkway near East 233rd Street at 8:45 a.m.

She was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition.

It’s unclear what caused the accident.

Manhattan

A pervert sexually assaulted a woman on the Upper East Side early yesterday, police sources said.

The sicko followed the 31-year-old woman into a building on East End Avenue near 85th Street at about 1 a.m., groped her buttocks and fled, the sources said.

A 29-year-old man died after plunging 16 stories off the rooftop of a Lower East Side building, police said.

The unidentified victim reportedly jumped or fell at the La Guardia Houses on Cherry Street near Clinton Street at 3:36 a.m. Tuesday.

He died at Bellevue Hospital. No criminality is suspected, cops said.

Two armed thugs robbed a passer-by in Greenwich Village, cops said.

Timothy Jones, 26, allegedly flashed a knife while Johnathan Minor, 18, pulled what appeared to a be a gun on the victim at 11:38 p.m. on June 13 near West Third Street and Sixth Avenue.

They fled with a wallet, cellphone and iPod, cops said.

Detectives arrested Minor on July 4 and Jones the following day.

Cops found two men allegedly in possession of dozens of counterfeit credit cards in Greenwich Village.

According to court papers, Jamik Mosley, 31, had 33 fake cards while Jimmy Davis, 30, had 15 when cops searched their vehicle at 12:10 a.m. last Thursday at Seventh Avenue and Carmine Street.

Officers also found a gravity knife stashed in the glove box, cops said.

The suspects had allegedly used the bogus cards to make $3,000 in purchases, cops added.

Staten Island

Police nabbed a man for car-insurance fraud in Midland Beach, authorities said yesterday.

Nicholas Theodore, 52, was allegedly driving his aunt’s Mitsubishi when he smashed into another car at Nugent and Midland avenues at 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 12.

He zoomed away from the accident without waiting to exchange paperwork with the other driver, cops said.

The victim’s car was towed to a repair shop, while at the same time Theodore allegedly called the insurance company to report the car had been stolen.

Cops caught him Tuesday on charges of insurance fraud and leaving the scene of an incident without filing a report, said a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.

An out-of-control drunken driver was arrested after leading cops on a high-speed chase through Midland Beach, authorities said.

Scott McNutt, 41, was spotted by police careening at 90 mph down Father Capodanno Boulevard Tuesday at 4 a.m., court papers state.

He turned onto Seaview Avenue — heading the wrong way on a one-way street — before coming to a stop on Mapleton Avenue, cops said.

McNutt also allegedly assaulted the arresting officer.

The arresting officer was treated at Staten Island University Hospital for a fractured rib and elbow.

Brooklyn

A man was shot dead Tuesday in Flatbush, police said.

Wayne Morgan, 34, was shot in the head at 10:27 p.m. on Parkside Court near Parkside Avenue, police said.

The victim, whose rap sheet lists drug busts, was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

A man urinating in public attacked a man who confronted him, authorities said yesterday.

Dexing Xue, 35, was allegedly relieving himself on a fence along 49th Street near Sixth Avenue when the 56-year-old victim angrily confronted him at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Xue cursed at him, hit him with a stick, and struck him on the arm with a bottle, cops said.

Police arrested Xue.
