Gambino-linked ex-con who stabbed celeb pizza chef sentenced to one year

A Gambino crime family associate involved in a knife fight with the owner of popular Brooklyn pizzeria Lucali was sentenced tonight to a year in prison for violating his probation.

Benny Geritano, 38, who battled with Mark Iacono in Carroll Gardens, has admitted smoking marijuana while on probation for a string of bank robberies.

Brooklyn federal judge Sterling Johnson, Jr. allowed Geritano to remain under house arrest until the end of October to allow for surgery to repair a hand injury suffered during the April knife duel.

“Mr. Geritano does not have a respect for the law — I’m quite convinced of that,” Johnson said.

The judge pointed out that on the very day Geritano walked out of federal prison last September, the wiseguy tested positive for marijuana use — and continued failing subsequent drug tests “every month up until April.”

Today, as Geritano was walking out of the Brooklyn federal courthouse, he ran into Dominick “Black Dom” Dionisio, a reputed Colombo crime family associate who until recently worked at Lucali pizzeria.

Dinisio is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot at two gangsters during the Colombo crime family internecine war in the 1990s.

The two wiseguys paused in the courthouse lobby to hug, and then briefly exchanged pleasantries before going their separate ways.
