Jets will decide Alosi’s fate after season

Rex Ryan said he, Jets owner Woody Johnson and GM Mike Tannenbaum will meet after the season to determine the future of assistant coach Sal Alosi with the team.

Alosi, the team’s strength and conditioning coach, was suspended indefinitely and fined by the team after tripping a Dolphins player from the sideline during a punt in a game Dec. 12.

Thursday, the NFL fined the Jets $100,000 for the incident and comments made in the week afterward regarding other teams building a similar sideline wall.

Asked on Friday why Alosi was still on the Jets’ payroll, Ryan said, “Quite honestly, we’re looking to get through the season right now and then Woody, Mike and I will make a decision at a different time. Right now, our focus is on trying to beat the Bills and get ready to move forward in the playoffs.”

The Jets face Buffalo in the regular-season finale on Sunday before a first-round playoff game next weekend.
