INSIDE THE MATCHUPS

METS: In Gee’s past six starts, with some offensive support — the Mets have averaged 5.2 runs per game — and strong pitching, he has gone 4-1. In the span, he has allowed 11 earned runs in 40 1/3 innings (2.45) while striking out 40.

D’BACKS: It is anyone’s guess which Kennedy will show up today. On June 6, he surrendered 10 earned runs, and he finished June with a 4 1/3-inning, four-run disappointment against the Braves. He sandwiched those starts around two quality starts, though, in which opponents hit just .178 against him.

STAT SO?

METS: Heading into last night, the Mets had given up 65 home runs, the fifth lowest total in the majors.

D’BACKS: Kennedy has yet to lose to the Mets. In four career starts, he is 4-0 with a 3.70 ERA.
