Mike averts ’dog $#!t

This time, he kept it family-friendly.

A year after punctuating his annual speech about Nathan’s hot-dog-eating contest with an expletive, Mayor Bloomberg yesterday poked fun at his gastronomic gaffe.

Last year, Hizzoner interrupted his pun-heavy speech — about being “frank,” and “relishing” the tradition — by exclaiming, “Who wrote this sh-t!?”

This year, he alluded to that R-rated slip, but only after setting what he said was a record for the number of hot-dog puns in one sentence: 15.

“Now before you ask me who wrote this sh. . . shrewd prose, let me just say, speeches are like sausages: It’s better not to see them being made,” he said.

Meanwhile, workers began removing the top half of Coney Island’s Astrotower this morning over concerns it was swaying too much and could be a danger to visitors, officials said. The Cyclone and the Wonder Wheel will remain closed today.
