Ashanti stalker accosts judge over Twitter knowledge

A crazed stalker charged with sending over 100 explicit tweets to R&B singer Ashanti told a Manhattan judge Tuesday that he shouldn’t preside over his case if he doesn’t understand Twitter.

“You said in the courtroom you don’t know what Twitter is?” blurted Devar Hurd to Justice Charles Solomon. “If you can’t understand what Twitter is how can you be capable of making a decision?”

The judge calmly responded that he doesn’t use Twitter or Facebook but understands social media.

“Mr. Hurd, I read the grand jury minutes and I wrote down disgusting tweets…” the judge began to explain patiently when Hurd cut him off.

“There were no nude photos! It was all entertaining stuff,” the loon argued.

Hurd was busted July 23 for sending “explicit” tweets to Ashanti from two accounts and posing at a party with her little sister despite orders of protection barring communication with the songstress and her family.

Ashanti testified before a Manhattan grand jury in August that she and her family felt threatened by the vulgar texts and tweets allegedly sent since September 2012.

Hurd was convicted in 2010 for sending cellphone pics of his crotch to the “Army Wives” actress via her mom.

But a stint in prison wasn’t enough to deter the former personal trainer who was living in a Brooklyn flophouse when he was arrested for renewing his campaign.

Hurd, 35, faces felony stalking and harassment raps but claims the messages weren’t threatening or violent.

“Can one really be harmed by Twitter? Is there a cyberspace injury?” asked Hurd’s lawyer Glenn Hardy outside court. “His answer is no. He didn’t intend to injure or harass anyone.”

Hurd testified at his Manhattan trial in 2010 that the lewd photos he sent to Ashanti’s mom were welcomed.

“That’s sex texting,” he said of the cell phone shot he sent of himself masturbating. “It’s for the ladies!”

Hurd remains in Rikers in lieu of $750,000 bail.
