It’s a food show. No, it’s a dating show.

Wait. You’re both right. It’s two shows in one,

The latest twist on reality is a show called “Chef Wants a Wife,” where a top Manhattan matchmaker sets up professional cooks for love.

“Seventy percent of chefs are single,” says the show’s producer, Tom Adams

“And those who are married get divorced at a much higher rate,” he points out. “So, they have some unique issues.”

“They tend to have big egos. I think we all know that from Chef Ramsay — they are full of themselves,” he says. “And that makes it very difficult in relationships where obviously you have to compromise.”

Casting notices for the series started appearing on the Web in the past several days, so the show is in its earliest stage of development.

No network or air date has been announced but it is unlikely it will be on the air before next year.

The show says it is open to all single chefs, male, female, gay or straight.

“You could be the head of a huge restaurant or the line cook in a burger joint,” Adams says, “just not at McDonald’s.”

Chefs will go on multiple dates in each episode.

Adams says, “We will send them to restaurants — to see if they can actually sit in someone else’s place and be a good customer.”

Chefs interested in appearing on the show can apply by emailing chefcasting@cineflix.com.
