Teenage girl escapes handcuffs, police precinct

She’s the high-school Houdini.

A teenage girl who was under arrest for theft managed to slip out of her handcuffs and escape from the Midtown South Precinct station house Monday night, authorities said.

The 15-year-old, who was picked up for grand larceny, was being held in a juvenile room when she wriggled from the shackles and walked out of the station at about 10:20 p.m., police said.

The teen was in the wind as of Monday night, authorities said. It was not immediately clear what she’s alleged to have stolen.
