Two cops injured in Queens car crash

Two cops were injured in a car crash Wednesday night while responding to a cellphone store larceny in South Richmond Hill, authorities said.

Three thugs swiped phones and accessories from the T-Mobile store on Liberty Avenue near 118th Street at about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

After the suspects fled in a black Nissan Maxima, a witness flagged down passing cops, who put out a radio description of the getaway car, authorities said.

Two patrol cars were responding to the alert when they collided with a Honda Civic near Lefferts Boulevard and 109th Avenue, police said.

A pair of officers involved in the smash-up were taken to Jamaica Hospital with minor injuries, according to authorities. The driver of the Honda was unharmed, police added.

Meanwhile, the perps ditched the Nissan on a front lawn near the Van Wyck Expressway Service Road and 111th Avenue and fled on foot, cops said. The trio was in the wind as of Wednesday night.
