Man charged with murder after allegedly pushing victim onto LIRR third rail

A man was electrocuted at the Bellmore LIRR station early today after an attacker threw him onto the third rail, officials said.

The suspect, 34-year-old Roosevelt resident Niheim Levy, allegedly exchanged heated words with the 49-year-old victim before robbing and pushing him to the tracks at about 5 a.m.

Levy was booked on murder and robbery charges. The victim, a Freeport resident, was not immediately identified.

Investigators initially suspected the victim fell after suffering a seizure, but Nassau County Police and MTA Police later determined foul play was involved.

MTA Inspector Joseph Martelli commended both departments for the “expeditious arrest” of Levy.
