Stephen Moyer, who plays Bill Compton in HBO’s “True Blood,” has been cast in NBC’s live production of “The
Sound of Music.”
Moyer will play Capt. Georg Von Trapp opposite Carrie Underwood’s governess, Maria, in the Dec. 5 holiday telecast.
The Von Trapp role was played by Christopher Plummer in the 1965 movie, which also starred Julie Andrews as Maria and snared five Academy Awards.
