A Harlem grandmother last night called cops about a foul odor coming from her grandson’s room — where authorities later discovered a 55-gallon drum with a body inside, sources said.

The woman had called 911 to report the stench in her home at 2400 Seventh Ave. near West 140th Street around 9:40 p.m. Saturday. Responding officers found the container and dead body in her grandson’s bedroom, sources said.

The clothed body was stuffed inside the drum, so police weren’t immediately sure whether the victim was male or female, sources said.

The cause of death is not yet clear, police said.

The grandson is in police custody while getting a psychological exam at St. Luke’s Hospital, but he has not been named a suspect or charged, sources added.
