Holding parents accountable

The Issue: Parents who are threatening to sue an ex-NFL football player whose home their kids trashed.

Should we really be surprised with today’s youth? (“Teenage Wasteland,” Editorial, Sept. 21).

The iPod-loving, me- generation, 15-minutes-of-fame, look-at-me kids? When these teens trashed ex-NFL player Brian Holloway’s upstate home, it was proof they don’t even respect their own parents — who, by the way, should take some of the blame themselves

The parents of spoiled brats are threatening to sue a man whose home was destroyed by their children after he reposted their social-media posts, claiming it’ll harm their chances of getting into college.

The irresponsible parents should worry more about them going to jail.

I hope the parents get what is coming to them, and hope the teens learn a life lesson when they are hit with community service, not jail time.

The parents enabling their children to become future residents of the New York penal system should pay for all damages and expenses.

It’s time we re-enforce the law making parents liable for the actions of their minor children.

And the next time Johnny and Jane step out of line, they will get a swift kick in the behind and think twice before acting like jerks.
