Police nab Queens hit-and-run driver

Police have arrested a hit and run driver who plowed into a man in Queens early Sunday before dragging his mangled body several yards, authorities said.

The 21-year-old victim was crossing 57th Avenue in Corona near 99th Street at around 3:30 a.m. when the driver, traveling eastbound on 57th, ran him over, trapping his body in the vehicle’s undercarriage, cops said.

The badly injured man was then dragged a short distance before witnesses flagged him down and told him to stop.

The driver then got out of his car and helped passersby remove the man’s body from underneath the car before fleeing on foot.

He was arrested a short time later and is currently being held at the 110th Precinct where police said charges are pending.

The victim is in extremely critical condition at Elmhurst hospital, cops said.
