‘Drug kingpin’ on way to NY

A South American alleged drug kingpin is facing extradition to New York after getting busted in connection with millions of dollars worth of heroin found hidden in a shipment of couches.

Sertio Zuilanny Gordillo Joya, also known as “Andres,” was nabbed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, following a joint investigation by the DEA, NYPD, New York State Police and the city’s Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

He allegedly masterminded the smuggling of more than 35 pounds of heroin that was bound for New York before being intercepted at the Port of Miami last year. Three other alleged ring members were arrested earlier.
