An Official drop flop over Tiger

* It’s time to shut up about the beautiful integrity and sportsmanship of the game of golf. Tiger Woods admitted he took his drop on the 15th hole to get the right yardage. You can’t do that! He dropped improperly in order to hit his ball from the precise distance which would be advantageous to him. He should have disqualified himself immediately. But the Masters officials punked out because, after all, money is more important than honesty and the rules of the game. Woods is not a Tiger. He’s a damned cheetah.

* The Masters officials were quick to penalize Tianlang Guan for his slow play, but were slow in penalizing Tiger Woods for his quick drop!

* Tigers don’t change their stripes. Whether you cheat on your wife or you cheat at golf, a cheater is a cheater!

Spike photobombs

* What’s the deal with Spike Lee running on the court to have his picture taken with the 1973 Knicks the night they were honored at the Garden? If I did it or another long-time season-ticket holder did it, we would have been tasered.

Bulls fighting

* It’s NBA playoff time and here’s hoping the Knicks don’t have to meet the Bulls in the postseason. The Bulls didn’t need Derrick Rose to go 4-0 against the Knicks this year. Former Knick and talented “pest” Nate Robinson and company have the Knicks’ number. Their aggressive defense will frustrate the Knicks and bring about a crucial Carmelo Anthony turnover or an untimely J.R. Smith technical. The Knicks won’t get the chance to face the Heat if they have to visit the Windy City first.

Going Buck wild

* If you’re lucky in baseball, and in life, there’s a second rising on the curtain, another chance to shine. I’ve been giddy to watch Mets catcher John Buck’s early season display of excellence. As the spring also attempts to break through in these parts, it has been a lovely reminder that when the elements fall into place, anything, indeed, is possible.

Yanks a lot

* Here we are not quite two weeks into the baseball season and some people have changed their predictions twice. Even Mike Francesa “unburied” the Yankees. To me, that is a bad sign, because “Mike the Magnificent” has the reverse Midas Touch. Not to worry Yankees fans, any 3-4 game Yankees losing streak and the $5 million per year WFAN Cave Oracle will bury the Yankees again. The Yankees may not be the 1927 Yankees, but when their walking wounded get out of sick bay, they will still be contenders.

Say no to Manti

* I hope the Giants aren’t interested in Manti Te’o. The Alabama offense exposed him as an overrated player, and anyone who falls in love with a voice on the phone for a few years, is not someone I want wearing blue.
