Nine subways delayed after winter storm

Riders heading to work Tuesday morning faced delays on nine subway lines largely due to weather-related signal and switch problems at outdoor stations after Monday’s snowstorm, authorities said.

Signal problems at the Bronx’s Jackson Avenue and Pelham Bay Park stops snagged uptown 2 and 5 service, as well as the 6 line in both directions.

In Brooklyn, the 20th Avenue station suffered from signal issues, causing delays on the D line, according to the MTA website.

The A train in Queens ran express from Lefferts Boulevard to Rockaway Boulevard after switch problems at the Lefferts Boulevard stop.

And the Queensboro Plaza stop also had signal problems, causing delays on the N and Q line.

Mechanical problems on a J train at Broad Street also stopped service between Chambers Street and Broad Street in both directions, and then led to residual delays when service resumed.

The L line also had residual delays after a police investigation at the Bedford Avenue stop during the morning commute.
