Who Framed Roger Rabbit? 1988

Sunday, 10 a.m., TCM

The first big movie to completely integrate animation with live action. Roger Rabbit (Charles Fleischer) is a big cartoon star who suspects that his wife, Jessica (Betsy Brantley) is playing around. He hires a ‘toon-hating, banged-up detective (Bob Hoskins, above), but then all hell breaks loose. A big shot, Marvin Acme (Stubby Kaye) is killed and Roger is framed for the murder and only the detective can get to the bottom of it. So clever you won’t believe your eyes.

My Cousin Vinny, 1992

Sunday, 4:30 p.m., Comedy Central

Marisa Tomei (left) won a Best Supporting Oscar for her hilarious performance in this laugh-till-it-hurts movie about a seemingly inept lawyer — that would be Vinny (Joe Pesci) — from Brooklyn. Vinny travels to the Deep South to defend his cousin (Ralph Macchio), who gets trapped in a convenience store murder. Vinny’s chatterbox girlfriend (Tomei) goes along to help him and, of course, dress him in real lawyer clothes

The Usual Suspects, 1995

Tuesday, 11 a.m., AMC

Kevin Spacey won a Best Supporting Oscar among a star-studded ensemble in this mystery thriller about five small-time crooks, who meet when they’re all brought together in a lineup. They are drawn into a scheme to seek revenge against the cops. However, their strings are being pulled by a criminal mastermind who has been wronged by each of them. With Stephen Baldwin (from left), Pete Postlethwaite and Gabriel Byrne.

Four Weddings and a Funeral, 1994

Saturday, 9 p.m., Ch. 13

Charming Hugh Grant (left) vehicle about a bachelor named Charlie, who attends, yes, four weddings and a funeral. As he ponders life, death and love, Charlie falls for an American woman (Andie MacDowell) even though he’s engaged. While this movie isn’t a brain twister, it is lots of fun. With Kristin Scott Thomas and James Fleet.
