LI man busted for DWI after crashing into school bus

Cops arrested a Long Island man for driving under the influence Friday afternoon after he crashed into a school bus and another vehicle driven by a pregnant woman, authorities said.

Kyle Norton, 37, allegedly hit the rear of a school bus with six children aboard about 3:30 p.m. on Broadway and Dolce Street in Brentwood.

Norton, of East Islip, fled the bus-crash scene only to crash minutes later into a 2004 Mercury, which was being driven by a pregnant woman with two children in the car.

Two good Samaritans followed Norton after the first crash and called police.

Authorities say four of the children on the school bus as well as the pregnant woman and her two children were taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries.

According to police, Norton was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Norton was not injured in either accident, cops said.
