Michael Jackson’s teenage daughter, Paris, tried to kill herself early yesterday by scarfing down pills — after struggling for weeks to assert her independence from her family guardians and trying to get closer to her biological mom, Debbie Rowe, sources told The Post.

The 15-year-old was also motivated to act out after one of the family elders forbade her from attending a Marilyn Manson concert tonight in LA. Her legal guardian is Jacko’s mom, Katherine.

“She wants to spend more time with [biological mother] Debbie Rowe, and she’s getting push-back from the family, everyone,” a family insider said. “The family has been saying ‘Well, where was [Rowe] when this was happening or that was happening?’

“But to Paris, Debbie represents an actual, real connection to her dad. Debbie represents someone who has a much more authentic relationship with her dad than anyone else in the Jackson family, outside of Katherine.”

The teenager was talking with someone on a suicide hot line at the time she took the pills, and that person was so worried, he or she called 911.

Paris was rushed by ambulance from the Jackson home in Calabasas, Calif., at 1:15 a.m., Los Angeles County fire officials said.

In addition to taking an entire bottle of Motrin, the troubled teen also sliced superficial cuts in her wrists, a close-family friend said.

“Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention,” said Perry Sanders, lawyer for grandma Katherine Jackson.

Before she tried to kill herself, the troubled teen made an apparent bid to show her independence by reaching out to her 1.1 million Twitter followers with a series of bizarre messages Tuesday night.

A few hours before she took the pills, she tweeted “i wonder why tears are salty?” She also posted a message quoting the Beatles’ “Yesterday” — “yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they’re here to stay.”

In another Tweet she said “you say i need therapy, well, my darling, so do you. don’t need for you to tell me what is wrong in all i say or do,” which are lyrics to the song “Concrete Wall” by Zee Avi.

Paris grew up without Rowe, who signed away all parental rights to Michael Jackson in 2001. She has been under the guardianship of grandma Katherine since the Gloved One’s overdose death in 2009.

But Rowe and Paris have recently been making up for lost time.

They’ve been spotted out together as mom and daughter in Los Angeles, including a dinner in Studio City in April celebrating Paris’ 15th birthday.

Paris has even said she’d like to move in with Rowe someday — a plan that’s completely opposed by everyone in the Jackson clan, sources said. Her brother Prince Michael wants nothing to do Rowe, who is his bio mom, too.

In addition to the tension over Rowe, Paris has been troubled by the upcoming June 25 anniversary of the King of Pop’s death and the troubling testimony that’s been coming out of the family’s lawsuit against concert promoters AEG Live, sources said.

The teen has opposed the family’s court fight with the promoters, fearing the revelations of about her dad’s behavior will tarnish his memory.

Rowe told “ET” that her daughter has “a lot going on.”
