Mother of all sitcoms cast for Mother’s Day

A galaxy of classic TV moms — and one “classic daughter” — has been cast for a special Mother’s Day episode of Nick at Nite’s “Instant Mom,” which stars Tia Mowry-Hardrict.

The episode, airing in May, will feature Florence Henderson (“The Brady Bunch”), Marion Ross (“Happy Days”), Meredith Baxter (“Family Ties”), Jackee Harry (“227,” “Sister, Sister”) and Tempestt Bledsoe, who played daughter Vanessa Huxtable on NBC’s long-running “The Cosby Show.” The setup finds all five women in a spa with Stephanie (Mowry-Hardrict) and her mom, Maggie (Sheryl Lee Ralph), attempting to cheer Stephanie up after a disappointing Mother’s Day. The women chime in about being moms (and a daughter) in ways that reflect their classic TV characters.

Last, but not least…

Ayana Harry has joined Ch. 11 as a reporter . . . “Today’s” Savannah Guthrie, covering the Winter Olympics, on whether her co-hosts will be her drinking buddies in Sochi: “I can hold my own pretty well,” she tells People magazine. “So can Matt Lauer. Natalie Morales? Well, she’s kind of a lightweight” . . . Post sportswriter George A. King III talks baseball Wednesday on CUNY TV’s “City Talk” with Doug Muzzio.
