1 Hell’s of a NY beauty

She’ll be competing for the Miss USA title today, but before she was Miss New York, Joanne Nosuchinsky wore a much hotter crown: Miss Hell’s Kitchen.

“I thought it sounded a little threatening — and I wanted my competition to be a little scared,” said Nosuchinsky, 24, who was able to pick the part of New York she wanted to represent when competing for Miss New York USA last January.

Originally from Freehold, NJ, Nosuchinsky said she’s been living in Hell’s Kitchen since 2010 — and is as tough as the neighborhood’s old reputation.

“I can do about 10 push-ups before getting winded,” she boasted, and she likes her chances tonight.

“I think one of my strengths is that I love being in front of an audience,” said Nosuchinsky, who graduated from New Jersey’s Rider University with a theater degree in theater, and currently performs off-Broadway in “The Awesome 80s Prom.” If Nosuchinsky takes the crown, she’ll represent the United States in the Miss Universe Pageant on Dec. 11. The Miss USA pageant airs tonight on NBC at 9.

“I am hoping this opportunity opens other doors for me in my acting career,” she added.

Besides theater, Nosuchinsky, who is single, loves singing, dancing, yoga, pizza and pasta — blaming the last two favorites on her Italian roots.
