‘Fired at 44’ legal battle

Over 40 is over the hill at Hewlett-Packard, a former employee alleges.

Robert Sass, 44, says he was canned from his sales job at the computer giant because he was too old, according to a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed last week.

Company officials said they fired him because he told a story in which he used the word “clitoris” and said “f–k” nearly two dozen times.

But Sass said that was just an excuse. The tale he told was an anecdote from his son, a teacher, whose young student used the word for female genitalia out of context.

“There was nothing offensive or sexually explicit about it,” according to court papers.

Hewlett-Packard declined to comment on the pending litigation.
