Business Insider gets new digs

Jeff Bezos was the lead investor in a $12 million infusion into business website Business Insider last month, and now it looks like some of the new-found cash will be used on larger offices for the expanding staff.

The company is planning to move to 150 Fifth Ave., into a 21,000 square- foot office — nearly doubling the 12,000 square feet it occupies at its current address at 257 Park Ave. South.

The move is in part to accommodate a staff that has mushroomed by more than 60 percent, to 160 newsroom staffers, from 100 only a year ago.

Henry Blodget, the site’s co-founder, is expected to keep his perch at a standing desk in the middle of the newsroom.
