Cops arrest woman after common-law husband found dead

A father in the middle of a child-custody battle was found stabbed to death in his Brooklyn home Monday — and cops arrested his baby mama, sources said.

John Ferraro, 38, was discovered with several puncture wounds to his chest around 8:30 a.m. inside the house on East 72nd Street near Avenue M in Bergen Beach, cops said.

His 34-year-old common-law wife — with whom he has a 4-year-old daughter — told police she found his butchered body and called 911.

His partner told police she discovered his butchered body before calling them. She has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.

Police had been called to the troubled home at least six times because of fighting, sources said.

“John realized [his girlfriend] was having [problems] and didn’t want her to have custody of the child,’’ a neighbor said. “He wanted to do what was right for his daughter.”

The police arrested 34 year old Jacqueline Carroll at the scene and charged her with murder in the second degree.
