‘Catfight’ Samaritan is slain

A good Samaritan was fatally stabbed yesterday morning when he tried to break up a catfight in The Bronx, authorities said.

Ronis Garcia, 28, was in town with his brother visiting friends when he stepped between two women in the middle of a dispute in the hallway of a Hunts Point apartment building on Bryant Avenue at around 7:30 a.m.

When Garcia tried to separate them, one combatant turned her fury on him and plunged a knife into his chest, police said yesterday.

He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Garcia apparently was not acquainted with the women, according to police and the victim’s family.

Police said the knife was recovered at the scene and both women were in custody.

Charges were pending.
