MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND WILL BE A BEAUTY!

Get ready for some Memorial Day fun in the sun!

The festive, three-day weekend that signifies the unofficial beginning of summer kicks off tonight.

That means beaches, barbecues and beautiful sunsets.

And the weatherman says Mother Nature is going to cooperate to the fullest, with sunny skies and warm temperatures all weekend.

The mercury will hover in the mid 80s tomorrow through Monday, with nighttime temperatures in the comfortable 50s.

The mass exodus from the Big Apple begins this afternoon, as thousands flee to the Hamptons, the Jersey Shore, the Catskills and the Poconos.

If you’re staying in town, remember that city beaches and pools will be open.

On Monday, municipal offices, courts, schools and post offices will be closed.

Mass transit will be running on weekend or holiday schedules, and alternate-side parking will be suspended Monday.

The only bad news for the holiday weekend is that motorists will be paying more to fill up their tanks – thanks to a whopping 18 percent price hike in gas prices over the last three months.

The city’s Department of Consumer Affairs warned that some stations may take advantage of the busy weekend to gouge drivers even further.

The answer: shop around.

A department survey found it cost $21.60 to fill a 15-gallon tank with regular unleaded at a station on York Avenue in Manhattan – but just $19.80 at a station on East 96th Street.

The average city price for unleaded is $1.26 a gallon, while premium costs $1.41.
