NEW YORK PET: PET-IQUETTE – HERE’S HOW TO PREVENT MAJOR FAUX PAWS

ABSTRACT:

It’s summer and everyone’s hitting the streets. Now, more than ever, it’s up to you to make sure your best friend is at this best.

“Just because you love your dog doesn’t mean that everyone else loves dogs,” says Charlotte Reed, who runs the Manhattan pet-care service Two Dogs and a Goat. Dog owners, she says, are responsible for preventing uncomfortable confrontations.

For starters, follow the city’s rules: License your dog, walk him on a leash and pick up after him. Before you go anywhere with your pooch, fill your pockets with plastic bags for pickup duty. If you do come up short, make very effort to improvise: Ask a doorman nearby for some paper or a grocer for a plastic bag.

…..So brush up on your pet-iquette – it’s what’s best for you, your dog and the rest of us.
