Security Traders Association now accepting bitcoin

In scratch-your-head news, the Security Traders Association of New York (STANY) said on Friday that it will accept bitcoin payment for tickets to its annual conference.

Sweetening the deal is Atlas ATS, the New York-based cryptocurrency exchange, which has agreed to match the amount of bitcoin-purchased tickets, up to $1,000.

The actual bitcoin transactions will be handled by GoCoin, the leading international payment platform for bitcoin and litecoin.

“Part of STANY’s mission is to educate its members about new industry developments and opportunities. In addition to a panel discussion of cryptocurrencies, we thought we would encourage members to gain some first-hand experience using digital currency to pay for the event itself,” said STANY CEO and Executive Director Kim Unger.
