Tyson Chandler’s diss for Kevin Love: ‘He can’t play D’

If Tyson Chandler is traded at some point to help the Knicks land Kevin Love, the former Defensive Player of the Year reminded his current team what it would be missing if they land the Timberwolves star.

While being interviewed during halftime of Wednesday’s win at Minnesota, Chandler was asked how the Knicks could take advantage of the Timberwolves while on offense.

“Oh! Go at him,” Chandler said, referring to Love. “He can’t play D!”

Though the 6-foot-10 forward is currently tying a career-low with 0.4 blocks, he ranks second in the NBA in rebounds (13.1) and his defensive win shares have risen from a career-worst 0.9 last season to a career-best 3.1 this season, according to basketballreference.com. Chandler has 1.3 defensive shares (he finished with 2.6 last season).

And Love is having another phenomenal offensive season, ranking fourth in the league in scoring (26.5) while averaging a career-high 4.1 assists.
